Abstract. Diagonal horn antennas are known for its low-cross-polarization axially symmetrical field distribution with low sidelobes and thus could be used as low-noise reference antenna. The paper presents theoretical and experimental specifications comparison, primarily radiation patterns, with an insight into basic characteristics such as VSWR and scattering coefficient for a mass-produced P6-239/5 antenna as a test subject. Typical mass-produced antenna datasheet is limited to present beamwidth at 3dB and basic gain. This paper is considered to be more detailed specifications measurement and theoretical estimates comparison, as well as investigating into differences in specifications when phase-correcting lens is installed.
